We enjoyed a beautiful day on the shores of Geneva Lake for our Annual Meeting & Luncheon. Social hour began at noon at Abbey Springs in Fontana, with a delicious lunch following at 1:00. After lunch, the Board Meeting reviewed all that has happened with GLAF in the past year.
The election of new officers was announced at this meeting.
Congratulations to our 2025 Board Officers:
President - Sarah McConnell
Vice President - Robin Vail
Secretary - Claudette McShane

We honored Nicholette Marsicano at this event, celebrating her retirement as Board President. She was presented with the gift of a plaqued easel, which will remain at Gallery 223 as a testament to her many years of service.
Nikki sent a wonderful letter to all members after the meeting:
Dear members,
I am still overwhelmed by last Sunday's annual meeting and the gift you gave to honor my retirement. For those who weren't there the foundation presented me with an easel with a plaque that will stay in the gallery. Special thanks to the hospitality committee for a beautiful venue, and flowers and table favors for those attending. We had an amazing luncheon buffet and the outstanding company of our members.
I would like to sincerely thank our foundation board and committees for their work over the year as evident by their reports. Please read these reports as we have made amazing accomplishments this year. Please read especially our website and treasurer's reports. The figures are quite impressive! You were sent these reports last week. We will have hard copies at the gallery. We are so fortunate to have such a diverse and talented membership.
An overall request that was echoed in reports (including mine) was the important need for members to volunteer! The success of any committee or event totally depends on our members to volunteer. Many of you have suggested new programs but in order for that to happen we need committed people to do them.Thank you to all of you who volunteer their time and talents, and to those who donate monetary gifts. Please consider volunteering for one of our committees, (a committee needs to be more than one ) or co-chairing a committee. We live in the digital age and many of our volunteers work remotely.
When you became a member you agreed to volunteer in some way. Many of you noted your area of interest. We have several openings now on the hospitality and art mentoring committees. We are looking for one or two dedicated people to head our art presentations that are held throughout the year. Our foundation is unique in that we are run entirely by volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to meet our members.
We began celebrating Geneva Lake Arts Foundation's (GLAF)10 year anniversary as we were approved as a 501c3 by the IRS in July of 2014. During 2014 we were also Geneva Lake Art Association from January -December 2014 for financial reasons. We began 2015 solely as GLAF and dissolved GLAA in 2015. Our celebration continues through 2025. Thank you again for all you do. As always feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or ideas.
Sincerely,
Nikki Marsicano
GLAF president
